Story
The show starts out at a Monster Rancher tournament. It is there we first meet Genki, one of our heroes. He wins the competition and his prize is the brand-new Playstation game, Monster Rancher 200x, which he is told, will get in the mail. One day after school, Genki dashes home through a big city, most likely Japan (Tokyo, maybe?). When he gets to his apartment building, he goes through the mail and finds his new game. Not being patient enough to wait for the elevator, Genki dashes up the stairs all the way to his apartment. (He's FULL of energy, no?)

He goes straight into his room and turns the game on. When he enters the shrine, the game asks him to insert another CD. Genki does so and waits as the game loads. He re-inserts MR 200x and watches as the girl in the video game gets ready to unlock the disk. The girl and Genki say, "Unlock!" in sync, and Genki finds himself sucked into the video game. After getting the girl and her Suezo away from a gang of Moo's Black Dinos, Genki unlocks his first monster, Mocchi, and the group escapes the Black Dinos (Again) and leave the temple -- right before it crumbles to ruins. After introducing himself, Genki learns that the girl's name is Holly, and that she and her Suezo are on a quest to find the ancient Phoenix and stop Moo.

Genki and his Mocchi join the two on their quest, and the adventure begins. They are soon joined by Golem, Tiger, and Hare. As the story unfolds, Genki and his friends learn how to work as a team --and laugh in the face of danger. With their determination and skills, they may yet be able to defeat Moo and his army of badies.....
